Works and Road Closures

Council engages in a comprehensive program of maintenance and upgrades of our facilities and Infrastructure. Stay up to date with the latest works and any road closures or other impacts on amenity. The below list includes Council projects, as well as work being completed by other agencies or levels of government.

AusNet Gas Works
Works: AusNet is upgrading Warrnambool's gas network. They are replacing 25 kilometres of older low and medium-pressure gas mains in the Warrnambool CBD with new high-pressure poly pipes.
Duration: This project is expected to run until July 2027.
Impact: To complete these works safely, AusNet may need to turn the gas off to parts of the network for short periods of time. Residents and businesses will get notified in advance of the planned outage. Life support customers should get ready to activate their emergency plan on the outage day. Some works may affect local access, parking or traffic conditions for short periods. AusNet works to minimise disruption where possible and keep residents and businesses informed as works progress. If your property or business is directly affected, you’ll receive more information from AusNet before works start near you.
Contact: You can call 13 14 50 to speak with AusNet. You can also stay up to date with the latest information on AusNet's dedicated Warrnambool project page.
